Timmins and District Victim Services is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides short-term crisis support to victims of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster.
Specially trained crisis responders are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide emotional support, practical assistance and referrals to community agencies. Victim Services volunteers and staff work in partnership with local police, fire and emergency services to ensure persons affected by crime, tragedy and disaster receive immediate support and assistance.
Timmins & District Victim Services operates under the Ministry of the Attorney General, Ontario Victim Services Secretariat and has been serving the Timmins District since 1997. Services are based on the concept of "Neighbours Helping Neighbours" and are offered free of charge.
“My name is Justin; I am 20 years old and a full-time college student. Also, I am a Volunteer Firefighter with the Mountjoy Brigade. Always seeking to help people in any way I can. In the future I am hoping to be a Police Officer. I like the outdoors, fishing hunting, hanging out with friends and family. VCARS is something that I am proud to be a part of.” -Justin-

A personal safety plan is a way of helping you to protect yourself and your children. It helps you plan in advance for the possibility of future violence and abuse. It also helps you to think about how you can increase your safety either within the relationship, or if you decide to leave.
